Maxxis / H&M Motorsports' Baron & Haagma Win at Buffalo Bills
Beau Baron Claims Pro SxS / UTV & ATV Win & David Haagsma Wins SxS 700 Class

Maxxis / H&M Motorsports' Beau Baron won both the Pro ATV Class & Pro SxS Production Class at Buffalo Bills
Bakersfield, CA (2/12/2013) - The H&M Motorsports Team added three wins and a top five to their record at round two of the WORCS series. Beau Baron raced his H&M prepped Honda to his first win of the season in the Pro ATV class just one day after he won the Pro Production SxS class in his Holz Racing backed Polaris RZR XP 900. David Haagsma won the Production 700 SxS class on Saturday and took fourth place in the Pro ATV class on Sunday.

The round two took place at the Buffalo Bills Casino and the track was gnarly with three harrowing sections. The racers battled through whooped sand, an intense trophy truck track and had to race over pavement near the pits. Baron made the gnarly track look easy when he took the Pro ATV win by 45 seconds.

Baron got off line near sixth position and had a plan to make it to the front. “I saw Davie (Haasgma) ahead of me and figured I’d better get my butt in gear. I waited until we spread out, so I could see better and picked everyone off. I figured I’d get to the front and hammer down to gap everyone. My plan worked,” regarded Baron. Baron passed Haagsma for the lead during lap five and charged his way to the finish.

“My Elka Suspension and Roll Design were handling awesome and my Curtis Sparks engine was pulling like a monster,” said Baron of his H&M prepped Honda.

David Haagsma had a rear pack start but had passed all of his competition and took over the lead by lap four. The dust that he had fought though to get the lead began to take its toll on Haagsma and he slowly dropped back to fourth position.

“My Honda was working great. It got me to the front and was flawless. The dust was hard on me; I tensed up and my arms pumped. The track was an animal and I had an off day,” said Haagsma of his race.

Both Baron and Haagsma won their SxS classes on Saturday. Baron raced his RZR 900 XP to his second win of the season in the Pro Production SxS class. Baron used his Sparks engine to grab his second holeshot of the year. He was in the lead on lap two when his sway bar snapped and forced him to back off the throttle for a while to keep the RZR together.

“A few laps before the end everyone pointed at their wrists letting me know I could get beat on time adjustment so I pinned it. On the second to last lap, I went pretty quick, and on the last lap I gave it everything I had,” regarded Baron.

The veteran racer wasn’t kidding when he said he gave it every that he had on the last lap; he turned in the fastest lap of the day with a 07:46.747. The quick pace allowed him to take the win by over a minute.

Haagsma took the driver’s seat in his first ever SxS race in his brand new Polaris RZR 570. Haagsma had sat out the first round due to the extremely muddy conditions, and used it as his only drop for the season.

Haagsma got off to a strong start and was running in second and took over the lead when he made an exciting pass on the trophy truck track in a wide open whoops section. He held on to his position and took his first Production 700 SxS class win.

“It feels great to get my first Pro ATV win last round and my first SxS win this round. It’s a huge confidence boost and I am really happy,” said Haagsma.

Baron and Haagsma will be back in six weeks at round three of the WORCS series. The racers will be battling in the Pro ATV class and both Pro Production and Production 700 SxS classes. Hopes for championships are high as the racers show they have what it takes each round.
