H&M Motorsports' David Haagsma Second at Canyon MX Quad X
Beau Baron Places Third at Yamaha Quad-X Round 6

Peoria, AZ (9/13/2013) –The H&M Motorsports team had an impressive run at the sixth round of the Yamaha Quad X Series. David Haagsma took second in the Pro 450 Production class and his Maxxis Tires teammate, Beau Baron, placed third.

Haagsma grabbed the Holeshot in the first moto, but ran into an issue and dropped back in the pack. He rallied and was able to cross the finish in third. Haagsma not only took a top three finish, but also clocked the fastest lap of the moto on lap six, a quick 01:53.234.

“The first moto didn’t go as planned, but my H&M Motorsports Honda came through and I was able to pull off third,” said Haagsma.

Haagsma was second off the line in moto two and quickly fell into a good pace with his teammate. Haagsma held the second spot until lap eight when he dropped to third. He remained in third until the checkers. The 3-3 scorecard earned him second for the day and valuable championship points. Haagsma currently holds the points lead in the class.

“I am pumped to have the points lead with just two rounds to go, but really need to be perfect at the final two rounds to wrap it up. It’s going to be close, but I really want that number one plate,” regarded Haagsma about the championship.

Beau Baron scored 6-1 to claim third overall. Baron had a good start in moto one, but mud effected his vision and caused him to run off the track mid race. He was able to pull his quad off the berm that plagued him, but lost valuable time. Baron worked his way up from ninth to claim the sixth spot.

The second moto went much better for Baron. He used his Sparks motor to grab the Holeshot and never looked back. He held the lead all the way through and crossed the checkers with 14.982 seconds to spare.

“My Sparks motor was ripping and my Maxxis Tires were perfect. The second moto couldn’t have gone any better,” said Baron who currently holds third in the championship chase.

The H&M Motorsports duo will be back in action on Sunday October 27th in Anza, California at The Ranch for the seventh round of Quad X. Both Haagsma and Baron will be bringing their best, as the championship will wrap up in just two short rounds.
