Hesperia, CA (7/13/2013) - H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron claimed his first Yamaha Quad X win of the season on Sunday at the Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California. His Maxxis Tire’s Teammate, David Haagsma, earned fourth at the round.

Baron had a good start in moto one, as his Sparks powered Honda roared off the gate. He was pinched back in the first turn and dropped all the way to the back of the pack. He rallied and charged his way into third position by lap two. He then moved into second on lap four and began to close in on the leader. Baron was never able to take over the lead, but crossed the finish just 01.069 behind the leader.

“Moto one went really well. My H&M Motorsports / Maxxis Tires Honda was perfect. It worked flawlessly,” said Baron

Baron had another great start in moto two and fell into rhythm behind Haagsma. Baron remained in the second spot until the checkers. The 2-2 scorecard was good enough for the overall win.

“I am really stoked to get the win. It moved me into second in points and helped me gain on Davie (Haagsma) a bit,” regarded Baron.

David Haagsma got off to a good start in moto one and was on the bumper of the leader until lap four when he wrecked descending down a large hill. Haagsma hit a hole in the track and he and his machine flipped to the bottom. Haagsma was OK and the quad was slightly bent up, but no real harm occurred.

Haagsma was back in business for moto two and grabbed the holeshot on his Sparks powered H&M Motorsports machine. He led until the checkers, taking the win by over four seconds.

“Moto one was a bummer. I can’t thank my H&M Team enough for getting my Honda ready to go again for moto two. The quad was flawless for moto two and everything just fell into place. I’m glad I have the points lead heading into the last few rounds,” regarded Haagsma.

The H&M Motorsports Race Team will be back at Quad X in September. The sixth round of the series will take place at Canyon MX in Peoria, Arizona. Expect both Baron and Haagsma to put it all on the line as the season draws to a close; there are only three rounds left of the Yamaha Quad X Series.
