2012 WORCS Pro Champion Beau Baron & 2012 Yamaha Quad-X Pro Champion David Haagsma won the Glen Helen 6 Hour ATV 1 lap ahead of second place |
San Bernardino, CA (12/13/2012) – The H&M Motorsport’s / Maxxis Tire’s dynamic duo of Beau Baron and David Haagsma notched another win at the 6 Hour Event at Glen Helen this past weekend. The pair started out leading and never looked back; they conquered the competition by over a lap when the checkers flew.
The six hour team event took place at the famous Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California. Baron and Haagsma took turns for the race, each piloting their H&M Motorsport’s prepped Honda for an hour at a time. Baron was first to take the handlebars.
“The race started out great; I got the holeshot and put the hammer down. The course was marked a little poorly, so second place was able to stay with me because I had to hesitate often trying to keep on the track,” regarded Baron.
They track had a good flow to it and consisted of sandy washes, hard pack and some shale up hills. The track also covered the motocross track and even parts of the truck track. The racers used the familiar terrain to their advantage and by the second lap the Maxxis sponsored riders had gained a lot of time over the rest of the field.
“The race went great. We switched each hour and didn’t have any issues,” said Haagsma.
Baron and Haagsma held their lead for the entire race and grabbed the checkers with more than a lap separating them from second place.
“We had a great race, we were fast and there weren’t any issues,” said Baron of the victory. The H&M Motorsports team will be taking a break for the holidays but will be back in full force for the 2013 race season. The team plans to defend the titles they have earned and are excited to get back on the track.
