2005 Suzuki GNCC Series Contingency
Reaches $2.4 Million
Biggest payout ever for America's Largest Off-Road
Series
Morgantown, WV (2005)
- The Suzuki Grand National Cross Country Series has
reached its annual summer break, and the Racer Productions
staff took the opportunity to calculate the total
contingency money available to bike and ATV racers
in the series. The total came to a staggering $2.4
million!
"This is just awesome news for all
of our racers," says GNCC Trail Boss Jeff Russell.
"Best of all, the nearly two-and-a-half million dollars
is spread out through all of our classes, so the riders
who really need it can find enough money to get to the races."
Over a dozen companies have stepped up
with contingency money at each race, and several more will
add to the pot by rewarding the top riders in the Suzuki
GNCC standings when the series concludes. Companies backing
the riders each week include GNCC title sponsor Suzuki,
as well as Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Maxxis, Pirelli,
ITP, Öhlins, Klotz, Dunlop, Michelin, Alba Actionsports
and EFM No-Stall Clutches.
The $2.4 million is paid out in a variety
of classes and finishing positions over all 13 rounds of
the 2005 Suzuki GNCC Series.
The Suzuki Grand National Cross Country
Series will return from summer break with an all-new race
in Yadkinville, North Carolina, on September 10 and 11.
