Morgantown, WV (4/24/2013) - Chris Bithell ran his Reliable Tool Supply / Maxxis Tires Suzuki LTR 450 to his second podium in a row at the fourth round of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series. The race was exciting and Bithell put on a great come from behind charge to earn second place at the Big Buck GNCC.
Bithell was last off the line, but made quick work of the Pro Class and moved into fourth by the end of lap one. He was thirty seconds down from the leaders, but put on a rode hard to catch the front of the pack. Coming out of lap two, Bithell had narrowed the margin to just ten seconds. He continued his charge and took over the lead on lap three.
Once in the lead Bithell set a staggering pace and turned the fastest lap of the day on lap four, an impressive 27:10.250. Bithell dropped to second on lap five after a slight mishap in the creek section, but crossed the finish just 5.422 behind the leader.
“The race went awesome. My Suzuki worked flawlessly and my Maxxis Tires were hooking up everywhere. The FOX suspension was dialed and the ATV Innovations motor pulled strong all day,” said Bithell after the race.
Bithell currently holds third in the overall point’s standings. He will continue his quest for another podium finish in just two weeks at the Mammoth GNCC in Park City, Kentucky.
