Snocross and ATV info included
in this edition of Fantasy Moto News
Menasha, WI (12/20/2007)
– We finally have some pictures of all the
snow we’ve made since our first snocross
event in Lakewood – you’ll have to
check the website to see for yourself –
www.fantasymoto.com You asked for it – we’re
giving it to YOU!
Now that we have a good internet link with the
ski hill, we will continue to post pictures throughout
the next week and half leading to the event.
Track changes for the Dec 29-30th
weekend: |
-
More snow, more snow, more snow
-
The corner at the bottom of the downhill
is being backed up all the way to the
edge of the starting line so racers
don’t have to be on the breaks
coming down the headwall (this should
eliminate the constant battle to keep
snow on the downhill as well).
-
Finish line is being moved to the spectator
double
-
Making the landing of the spectator
double into more of a plateau landing
so racers can air things out a bit more
with a softer landing – or not
land so hard if they come up short
-
More snow pretty much everywhere but
concentrated in the areas we were low
on for the first weekend of racing (see
the pictures posted on the website www.fantasymoto.com
we will try to describe in each picture
were exactly the piles of new snow are
laying. Click on the pics for a larger
view.
-
Our post race press will go deeper
into the field to recognize more top
racers in more classes (sport, junior,
etc). Articles and results will again
be submitted to Snow Week magazine online.
-
Spectators – Lakewood is expecting
a HUGE crowd of spectators for this
second weekend of racing as the trails
are now open in that area and snowmobiling
is a huge business in that neck of the
woods. If you have some extra vacation
next week – come up early to do
some trail riding – the trail
goes right through the ski hill property.
-
We plan to revive yet another Fantasy
Moto tradition – the DASH FOR
CASH – open to top racers in all
of the SPORT and semi pro classes. With
Ed Kaelber at the controls again and
a large crowd of spectators –
raising money for deserving racers should
not be a problem.
-
More flaggers
-
This is more so a change for next year
– but thought it would be worth
mentioning that we will more than likely
ad a “Pro” class for 2009
and/or a “Pro-Am” class
in addition to the semi pro classes
offered this season.
|
We would like to thank everyone for their suggestions
for improving our next event – can’t
wait for you to see what we have in store for
you!
Friday practice – we are not sure if there
is going to be enough demand to justify having
an open practice again on Friday – we need
to hear from racers no later than this Sunday
in order to make that call – you can email
scottyb direct if you are interested in the open
practice on Friday the 28th.
Pre-entry deadline for next weekends race is
Thursday, December 27th. As with any snocross
season – it only gets better with time!
Ultimate Quad MX Championships and Ultimate Dirt
Drag Championships
We were hoping to mail 2008 membership info, schedules
and rules this week but our meeting in Crandon
was moved from the 14th to the 21st, meaning we
should have the stuff out next week or right after
the 1st of the year. The mailer will be packed
with everything you’ll need to know regarding
racing ATV’s in 2008.
Have a very, very Merry Christmas – we’ll
send out another snocross update in a few days,
in the meantime – check the website for
more pictures of that beautiful white stuff!
