2010 Extreme Dirt Track ATV Racing
Pre-Season Overview
Pickerington, OH (4/22/2010)
- We are only two weeks away from the opening
round of the 2010 Extreme Dirt Track Series which
is set to begin at Robbins Ridge Raceway in Burnsville,
NC. Riders will enjoy the track layout as they
experience elevation changes, off-camber turns,
and multiple straightaways. Robbin’s Ridge
is fortunate to have some of the best red clay
in the region. As a host to the Southern ATVA
Series, look for some exciting racing as the local
NC-VA riders battle it out with some of the best
in the nation.
The 2010 season looks to be an exciting year
as there are reports of dirt track rider counts
across the country being significantly higher
than last year. The Lucas Oil MidWest Extreme
Dirt Track Series reported approximately a 30%
increase in rider count at their opening round
as opposed to 2009. Additionally, the Southern
ATVA Extreme Dirt Track Series reported a 25%
increase in rider count for their opening round
compared to 2009. This is a good indication of
what to expect at the national level.
Don’t forget about the contingency programs
which are available for the series. KTM North
America has doubled its contingency program in
2010 and is offering almost $90,000 in total purse
money for the year. It’s great to see a
manufacturer step up to the plate and support
its riders even in tough economic times. For details,
visit the website at www.xtrm.com/ktm. Also, Hoosier
tire is offering (2) free tires to class winners
and (1) free tire to those finishing in second
place. Check out the Hoosier website for program
requirements and details (www.hoosiertire.com/EXTDTcon.pdf
).
We look forward to seeing everyone in Burnsville,
NC on May 8th. Please check the EDT website for
