Josh Frederick Returns to
Race for BRP After Injury
Team Motoworks / Can-Am Racer To Race Olympia
WORCS
Valcourt, Canada (8/14/2009) -
When Josh Frederick was injured in late May at an
ITP Quadcross race, the outlook for his World Off-Road
Championship Series (WORCS) Pro-class championship
defence did not look good. The two-time champion
had broken several ribs, broke two major bones in
one leg and had a punctured lung. This weekend,
however, marks his return to the WORCS circuit aboard
his Team Motoworks / Can-Am™ DS 450™
EFI ATV at the Olympia, WA round.
"I'm extremely impressed with the dedication
and determination that Josh brings to the Team
Motoworks / Can-Am team," says Jimmie O'Dell,
Racing Manager for Can-Am ATVs at BRP. "His
speedy return to action this weekend shows what
he is made of and that he is a true champion."
His recovery is not complete, however. According
to Johnny Leach, owner of the Motoworks / Can-Am
race team, Frederick still has some recovering
to go through and he will not be at 100 percent
this weekend.
"Josh is about 50 percent recovered and
is only racing this weekend in an effort to salvage
some championship points," cautions Leach.
"Josh just started riding only a few weeks
ago, so we'll just have to wait and see how he
does."
Frederick had a comfortable points lead when
he sustained his injury and is still in second
place despite missing one round of the WORCS championship.
The first practice is on Saturday, while the Pro-class
race will be held on Sunday. For more information
