Corona, CA (8/16/2013) - The Blingstar Team took to the line at the seventh round of the Rocky Mountain ATV MC WORCS. The race was held at Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, California. Clint Roberts and Nick Nelson, both had strong races going when mishaps put them out of the running. Despite the misfortune, Nelson currently holds third in the SxS Pro Production class with his Blingstar Polaris RZR XP.
Nick Nelson got off to a good start and settled into seventh place on the first lap. He put on a charge and overtook the sixth spot on lap two. He ran into bad luck on lap three and dropped to nineteenth before his race came to an end.
The DNF is Nelson’s first of the season; his consistency throughout the first six races has him sitting third in the SxS Pro Production class. Nelson has a strong hold in the points with fourth place a sitting four points behind him.

Team owner and driver, Clint Roberts, got a bad jump off the start and his Blingstar Polaris RZR 900 XP came out in 6th position for his row. He charged hard and made a few passes before getting a flat on lap two. His pit crew rallied and quickly changed his tire and sent him on his way. As he was getting into the rhythm of the track, Roberts got another flat which affected the handling of his SxS. He came to a sharp turn and was unable to navigate the quick change in direction and went over a drop. The drop caused his RZR to roll and did enough damage to his machine that he couldn’t finish.
“My RZR was strong today. CT Racing had a great motor in it for me, it really pulled on the straightaways and worked great. My FOX 2.5 shocks were dialed in nicely and my DWT tires were hooking up insanely. I really felt really strong today and it’s a bummer that I had the back-to-back flats and then the roll over. I am going to get it fixed and be back for the next round. I want to get it up front before the seasons over and I plan to do that at Honey Lake,” regarded Roberts after the race. Roberts is currently ranked thirteenth in the SxS Pro Production class.
Team Blingstar will be back in action in a few weeks at round eight. The round will be held September 13th – 15th at Honey Lake in Milford, California. Look for both Nelson and Roberts to come in strong and compete for the coveted spots on the podium
