Ronnie Higgerson Wins ATV Motocross Pro-Am Class

West Springfield, MA (6/5/2014) - Can-Am / BCS Performance’s Josh Creamer and Ronnie Higgerson claimed top ten Pro finishes at round four of the 2014 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships with Higgerson taking the Pro-am win.

Track conditions were rough at Sunset Ridge. The track was very sandy and broke down quickly, making it very challenging for racers. Luckily BCS Performance’s Ronnie Higgerson was ready for it, despite a tough start in the first Pro moto. “I was dead last off the start but my BCS Performance Can-Am worked extremely well and got me where I needed to go,” said Higgerson, who fought his way to a 8th place finish in the first moto.

For moto two, Higgerson did get a better start and was looking consistent despite the rough track. Higgerson kept his forward momentum and was able to work his way into a 7th place finish in moto two for seventh overall in the Pro class. “I had a pretty decent day and I was happy with my finishes in the Pro class, but Pro-am went even better for me,” said Higgerson.

In the Pro-am class, Higgerson was running in 8th off the start and was able to work his way to 6th before reaching the checkered flag, but in moto two, a good start gave Higgerson the advantage he needed. “I was in third place and by lap two, I was in second, then the leader had a mechanical issue and I inherited the lead,” said Higgerson.

Once out front, Higgerson laid down fast and consistent lap times and began to pull away. Higgerson increased his lead with each lap and took the moto two win by over four seconds, which also gave him his second Pro-am win of the season. “It always feels good to take a win. Everything went well for me in that second moto, and my Can-Am was running great!” said Higgerson.

Josh Creamer came on strong in the first Pro moto and was engaged in battle with the top five racers. The battle raged for most of the moto and left Creamer with a 5th place finish. "I came out in moto 1 and was running towards the front of the pack. My BCS Can-Am was running great and handled really good. Things looked to be going good but the finish was nowhere near what we wanted,” said Creamer.

For moto two, Creamer was in the top ten off the start and was trying to work his way forward, but a mechanical issue slowed his efforts. “Moto two wasn’t as good as the first moto. I was working up the field when I had a small mechanical issue that forced me to back off.  I did stay on the track and finish the race to salvage as many points as possible. I’m really looking forward to the next round I think we will have some good finishes there," said Creamer.

Round number five of the 2014 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships will head to Nashport, OH for the Briarcliff ATV National on June 14th where Josh Creamer and Ronnie Higgerson will be going for the podium.
