North Kingsville, OH (1/8/2008)
- As of January 1, 2008 Josh Upperman,
#20 has signed with American Honda/Baldwin Motorsports
and will ride RED for the 2008 race season. “I’m
very excited and expect top finishes in the WPSA
ATV race series”, says Josh. Look for Josh
Upperman to be a top contender in the Super Quad
Pro 450 class, aboard his Honda TRX450R. Mark
Baldwin, who is no stranger to the Honda TRX450R
and owner of Baldwin Motorsports, will now add
another title to his name as Team Manager. Josh
says; he will be doing a lot of riding, training,
and working out all winter and looks forward to
getting back on the racetrack and doing what he
loves to do – RACE and WIN!
Josh Upperman is a 22 year old, from Louisville,
OH, the youngest of three children, has been racing
since he was 15 years old, which started on a
Honda 400EX. He started racing in the local CRA
series, in Ohio and Pennsylvania and after much
improvement moved to a national level in 2004,
where he gained much recognition as an aggressive
competitor. Josh received the 2005 National Pro-Am
Unlimited Class Champion and took home the third
in the Pro-Am Production Class.
2006 was a pivotal year for Josh Upperman, with
the Honda TRX450R, built by Mark Baldwin, underneath
him Josh not only took the championship in the
AMA ATVA MX Pro-Am Production class, but also
captured the title for the AMA ATVA MX Pro-Am
Unlimited class, too, which he wrapped up with
three races to go in the series. This gave him
a chance to get his feet wet in the Pro Class
at the Unadilla MX track; Josh ended up with a
much-admired 4th place overall for the weekend.
He finished 20th overall, in the Pro class for
the 2006 season, racing only three races. At the
2006, AMA Awards Banquet held in Las Vegas, NV
Josh received the “Amateur Rider of the
Year” award.
In 2007 his Pro Rookie Year, he competed on a
newly released KFX450. With limited R&D time,
Josh had consistent finishes that gave him a respectable
10th spot overall in the Super Quad Pro 450 Class.
One of ATV’s greatest racers of all time,
and a good friend, Tim Farr, has trained and spent
numerous hours on the racetrack with Josh Upperman.
