Transponder Scoring to
be featured at the 2007 ATVA MX Nationals
Morgantown, WV (2/19/2007)
– The ATV Promoters Group (ATVPG), in cooperation
with AMA Racing and ATVA, announce that for the 2007
AMA ITP/Moose ATV National Motocross Championships,
transponder scoring will be used at all events, provided
by Trackside Software.
“We are so pleased to team up with Trackside
Software for ATV racing,” commented Sam Gammon,
Director of the ATV Promoters Group. “The addition
of transponder scoring to the series will further elevate
the series to the top level of ATV racing.”
Trackside Software is owned by John Dains, a former
ATV racer himself. Trackside Software is the leader
in event electronic scoring, providing official transponder
scoring services for the AMA Air Nautiques Amateur National
Motocross Regionals and Championship Final at Loretta
Lynn’s Ranch, as well as the Lake Whitney Spring
Classic and other premier amateur racing events throughout
the country.
The unit consists of an electronic device secured inside
the pocket of an elastic band and worn on the outside
of the rider’s racing boot. Electronic scoring
may help alleviate potential problems in the event of
inclement weather conditions, such as rain and mud.
In the AMA Pro ATV class, transponder scoring will
enable real-time racing results via the web on the official
website of AMA Pro Racing at www.amaproracing.com.
In the amateur classes, individual racer lap times will
be posted daily at www.atvmotocross.com.
Transponders can be purchased for $100 and feature
a two-year warranty. They can also be rented for $20.
An $80 deposit must be posted for all rentals, which
deposit will be repaid upon safe return of the unit.
Units should be purchased in advance by going to www.mxtransponder.com,
or by contacting Trackside Software at (877) 860-1662.
As a convenience, units will be available for purchase
at the first three events. After the third event, all
transponders must be purchased directly from Trackside
or rented at the track.
The series Awards Ceremony and Banquet is set to return
to the Grand Hotel and Convention Center in Pigeon Forge,
Tennessee on November 10. Recognition and awards are
given to the top 10 finishers in each class. Stay tuned
to www.amaproracing.com,
www.atvaonline.com
and www.atvmotocross.com
for race results and continued series updates.
