AMA Pro ATV Motocross Series Goes to California for Round Two

Pickerington, OH (3/20/2007) - Surprise first-round winner Jeremy Lawson (#16) hopes to repeat aboard his Honda at the second round of the AMA Pro ATV Motocross Series March 24-25 at the Glen Helen track in San Bernardino, California.

The Pro series is part of the ATVA ITP/Moose National Motocross Championship.

Last year, Honda rider Joe Byrd (#7), John Natalie (#13), also aboard a Honda, and Suzuki's Doug Gust (#55) were on the podium. Each of them hopes to claim the top spot this year.

But there are a bunch of young Pros gunning for the win as well, besides Lawson. Others include Honda's Keith Little (#12), Chad Wienen (#44) aboard a Honda, and Ruiss Shumaker (#68), who rides a Suzuki.

Besides facing world-class competition, riders are vying for contingency money offered by Kawasaki for riders on its new KFX 450R, Honda, and ITP.

Every round of the AMA Pro ATV and ATVA ITP/Moose National Motocross Championship will be broadcast on the Versus cable network. Tune in May 2 and 9 at 3 p.m. for Glen Helen coverage.

The Glen Helen gates open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 22. Test and tune practice is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 23. On Saturday, March 24, practice begins at 8 a.m. with racing starting as soon as practice is over. All classes will race their first, or qualifying, motos and last-chance qualifiers on Saturday except for the Pros.

Practice begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 25, and all classes will race their final motos. Pro riders will race their first moto at noon. The Pro final will be at 3 p.m.
