2006 ATVA GNC Motocross Series National
Numbers

OH (1/6/06) -– The prestige of not only
winning an event but even scoring points in an ATVA
ITP Moose Grand National Championship Motocross (GNC
MX) Series is proving riders have to be at the top of
their game to compete at this level. With all of this
comes a new level of importance on how to obtain a national
number. For Pro-Am to youth riders, continue reading
for information on automatic renewal of number, who
is eligible to apply for a number, how to maintain your
number and then reserve it.
Pro-Am, amateur and youth national numbers are separated into
the following groups: Pro-Am, “A”, “B”, “C”, Women, 16-24, 25+, 30+, 40+, Youth
Production, 90cc, 70cc and 50cc. Each group has numbers available from 11-999.
RIDERS WHO ALREADY HAVE A NATIONAL NUMBER ON FILE WITH THE
ATVA

Pro-Am, amateur and youth riders who reserved a 2005 number
by submitting a request prior to or during the 2005 GNC MX season and scored
national points in two of the twelve nationals in the same class will have
that number automatically carry over into those same classes for the 2006
season (except the “C” classes). National national numbers already on file with the ATVA,
as of January 5, 2006, are listed at bottom.

Top ten riders in each class may have the option to run
their corresponding finishing position (1-10) from the 2005 season provided
they are remaining in that same class for 2006. This does not apply to
riders who must advance or change to another class based on age, ability,
machine displacement or choice.
ELIGIBILITY TO REQUEST A NATIONAL NUMBER
Riders unable to meet the following eligibility to reserve a
number may use whatever number is currently on their ATV but could be required
to change that number at the event.

Riders who did not have a number on file in 2005 or were “C”
class riders with a reserved number and earned national points in at least
three of the twelve 2005 GNC MX events and earned those points in the same
class may request a 2006 national number.

Riders whose number automatically carried over from the 2005
season, but are changing classes or needed a reservation for another class
may request an additional reservation.

Riders who successfully score points in three 2006 GNC MX
events in the same class may then request a number.

Riders who may have missed the 2005 requirements for various
reasons (i.e. injury, financial reasons, etc.) but have proven the same
accomplishments in the 2004 series may submit a request citing the reasons
why they missed the 2005 season and a website link to their 2004 results as
found on www.ATVAOnline.com only. Requests will be considered on a case by
case basis.
HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR NATIONAL NUMBER FOR 2007

Score points in three 2006 GNC MX nationals in the same
class and your number will automatically carry over to the following year in
the class(es) for which those points were scored only.

For riders who cannot meet the four race minimum due to
injury, personal reasons, etc. they will have until November 15, 2006 to
submit a letter stating the reasons why they missed the requirements or will
loose reservation of that number in their class(es). Requests will be
considered on a case-by-case basis.
RESERVATION OF NATIONAL NUMBER
Riders meeting the above requirements may send an email or fax
only (no phone calls will be accepted) to results@atvaonline.com or fax
614-856-1921. Allow up to ten business days for a confirmation.
Send one (1) email or fax per rider and in the subject line,
please write 2006 GNC MX NUMBER FOR (insert rider's first and last name) and
then include the following information in that email or fax:
1. FIRST NAME
2. LAST NAME
3. ATVA/AMA MEMBERSHIP CARD NUMBER
4. CLASSES - Up to three per the 2006 Supplemental Rules (except consolation
class)
5. NUMBER CHOICES - Send three selections in order of preference. Best efforts
will be made to accommodate each request.
6. PHONE NUMBER
7. EMAIL ADDRESS
The above information does not apply to the Pro class. Riders
wishing to be considered a Pro for 2006 that did not attempt to qualify for an
event in 2005 should contact the ATVA for more information.
