Houtzdale, PA (7/6/06) –The quest
for a repeat ATVA Motocross Nationals Championship has
ended for John Natalie Jr as he will miss the next six
weeks of racing due to a bone fragment floating around
in his wrist, which will require him to undergo surgery
on Friday, July 7th to repair the injury.
On Friday, June 16th, John Natalie Jr wrecked during
the final Pro Practice of the day at Steel City, which
resulted in him injuring his wrist. The initial X-Rays
didn’t show that anything was wrong with his wrist
besides a severe sprain, so he went ahead and raced
in both Pro Motos and finished out the weekend in 17th
place.
The following Monday, he went to his local hospital
and discovered that a bone fragment was chipped off
of his thumb, so a soft cast was applied to his wrist
to stabilize it and allow the bone fragment to reattach
to the thumb bone.
Less than two weeks later, prior to leaving for Pell
City, the wrist was X-rayed again, and the bone fragment
did reattach, so John decided to race at Mill Creek.
John managed to squeeze out a 10th place finish, but
unfortunately, the bone fragment dislocated itself during
the race and is now floating in his wrist, which now
requires surgery to reattach.
John Natalie Jr is expected to be out for the next
six weeks, so he will miss a minimum of three rounds
of the ATVA MX Nationals, but he may be back in action
by Blue Grass Fall National at Ballance Moto X in Kentucky
for the final race of the season.
Regardless if he is racing or not, John Natalie Jr
still plans on attending as many races as possible to
greet his fans and cheer on the racers, and he will
be flying out to Illinois, this weekend, immediately
following surgery to attend both rounds of the Jack
Link’s Feed Your Wildside WPSA ATV Championship
Tour in Taylorville, IL at South Fork Riders Club as
a special guest announcer.
ATVriders.com will also be attending the event to interview
John Natalie Jr on the outcome of his surgery and his
plans for the rest of the year.
