ATV RiderCourse Added to ATV Motocross Showcase Events

Morgantown, WV (5/7/2008) The ATV Promoters Group (ATVPG) and ATV Safety Institute (ASI) announced today that the Nation's premier rider instruction course, ATV RiderCourse, will be offered at the four remaining Showcase Events on the ITP Tires/Moose Racing ATV National Motocross Championship Series Presented by Parts Unlimited tour.

ATV RiderCourse offers participants a hands-on experience to learn the basics of ATV safety and riding techniques. It represents the optimum starting point for all riders to learn how to ride ATVs safely and responsibly. While the ATV RiderCourse itself is fun, it is the actual application of the safety information and skills learned that makes ATV riding even more rewarding.

Along with RiderCourse, the Showcase Events feature outdoor themed displays from many different sponsors and vendors, test rides from Can-Am, and many other entertainment opportunities. All Showcase Events are held on ATV Motocross racing weekends, which showcase the top Pro, Pro-Am, Amateur, Women's and Youth riders in the nation.

RiderCourse events will be offered at the following races: High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Pa. (May 24-25); Unadilla Valley Sports in New Berlin, N.Y. (June 7-8); RedBud in Buchanan, Mich. (July 26-27); and Loretta Lynn's Dirt Days in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. (Aug. 9-10). Two classes will be held the Saturday of each event, at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.

"We are excited to have the ATV RiderCourse as part of the Showcase Events," said ATVPG Director Sam Gammon. "These safety courses will offer a unique setting to learn the basics of ATV operation, surrounded by professional and amateur motocross racing, which demonstrate just how far you can go as an ATV rider."

Cathy Tharp, Director of Communications for Discover Today's ATV and licensed ASI Instructor said: "ASI is firmly committed to promoting ATV safety through its rider training programs and educating the American public about our Golden Rules of riding. We're thrilled to have such a wonderful opportunity to spread our messages to such a broad audience through the Showcase events – as part of America's largest ATV Motocross Series."

RiderCourse students will receive free weekend pass, as well as an ASI Completion Card following completion of the course. The course cost is $125 for adults and $75 for children ages 15 and younger. Students may be eligible for free training and incentives if a new ATV has been purchased. For more information, or to enroll, please call (800) 887-2887 or visit www.atvsafety.org.
