AMA announces 2009 AMA Racing
Winter Dirt Track Series Schedule
Pickerington, OH (1/10/2009)
- The AMA has announced the 2009
schedule for the AMA Racing Winter Dirt Track
Series. Kicking off on Saturday, Feb. 28, and
running through Wednesday, March 4, the series
will feature five days of short-track, half-mile
and TT racing at three separate venues.
"It's great to be headed to Florida once
again for the 2009 AMA Racing Winter Dirt Track
Series," said AMA Racing Dirt Track Director
Ken Saillant. "Riders from around the country
compete in this series to prepare themselves and
their equipment for another fun-filled season.
Dave Joiner and Steve Nace do an outstanding job
of providing quality tracks and hard-working officials.
There's no better way to shake off the winter
cold, go fast, have fun, and size up the upcoming
season's competition. It will be a great week."
Riders will face off in a number of age- and
machine-based classes for early season bragging
rights at the AMA Racing Winter Dirt Track Series.
Some of the nation's top amateur talent will compete
on ATVs and motorcycles ranging from 50cc two-strokes
to 450cc race-bred dirt-trackers based on modern
four-stroke motocross machinery. (ATV classes
will be determined by local promoters.)
With three dirt-track disciplines represented,
it will give all racers a shot at winning an overall
series title, regardless of their specialty.
