Tyler Hamrick - Honda 450R ATV

Tyler Hamrick not only earned his best Pro ATV MX Career best at Wildcat Creek MX, He also earned his first overall win in the Pro-Am Class

Morgantown, WV (5/14/2013) - This past weekend at Wildcat Creek MX Tyler Hamrick had his best performance up to date. He qualified 12th fastest in the mornings sessions setting him up with a fair gate pick. Tyler was able to get out of the holeshot and avoid a lot of carnage in 10th place. He quickly made his way into 9th were he would battle with Casey Martin the entire moto to the checkers. The 9th place in moto 1 was a career best for Tyler.

In the second moto another mid pack start and barely avoiding another pile up Tyler was able to stay clean. He moved up into the 8th spot a little over half way into the race and that where he would finish. Making a new career best 8th in a moto, and taking 9th overall on the day. The days wild events were good enough to put Hamrick into 10th place in points as well!

On Sunday Tyler Hamrick decided to race in the Pro Am class for the first time this year, and the start to his second year in the Pro Am class. In his heat race he came out of the holeshot in 5th. By the end of lap 3 Tyler had secured the lead and was off. He rode a smooth six laps to checkers setting himself up for a good for Moto 2. In Moto 2 Hamrick and Musick two of Baldwin Motorsports riders rocketed out of the gates 1 and 2.

Hamrick again got in the lead early in lap three and started putting some space between him and Musick. Tyler led for seven laps and got passed with two to go, but with Moto 1 scores Hamrick knew he had still claimed the overall. It was Tyler's first ever Pro Am victory and it couldn't have came on a better day. Tyler really wanted to wish his Mom a Happy Mothers Day on the podium and also get the win for buddy Tim Dettling who suffered a bad crash in Saturdays Pro Moto. Once again none of this could be possible with out the backing of Tyler's parents and all his sponsors!
