Cat TRV 550 H1
|
Arctic Cat has a huge spectrum
of ATV’s that come in sizes and cc’s
to satisfy just about every class, except
for a 500 class machine. Now Arctic Cat
has filled that need with the new 550 H1.
The new Arctic Cat 550 H1 takes it design
from big brother, the 650 H1. Powered
by an EFI 545cc, SOHC, single-cylinder,
liquid-cooled engine, the 550 H1 provides
plenty of torque and horsepower to negotiate
tough terrain and obstacles with ease.
The seat on the 550 H1 sits one inch lower
than what was last years standard on the
650 H1 which allows the rider to feel
like they are sitting more “in”
the quad than on top of it. A new handlebar
design has been incorporated to give better
ergonomics as well. The 550 H1 comes with
fully independent front and rear double
A-arm suspension and is equipped with
preload adjustable shocks. The machine
also includes a full-length skid plate,
to give added protection when going over
obstacles on the trails.
The stance and suspension of the 550
H1 are race inspired. It has approximately
2 inches of “ride in”, meaning
the machine will squat approximately 2
inches with the rider on board without
loosing any of its 11 inches of ground
clearance and 10 inches of suspension
travel. The lower ride height and center
of gravity makes the machine feel more
stable while instilling confidence in
aggressive cornering and high-speed handling.
The 550 H1 is
equipped with extra wide fenders that
offer superior mud protection and its
25 inch Dunlop Quadmax tires, mounted
on 12 inch steel wheels offer plenty of
bite and traction to get the power to
the ground.

Arctic Cat TRV550 H1 ATV Key Features
|
- The H1 revolution
of hemi-producing power has arrived
in the 500 class with EFI. As you can
imagine, the 550 H1 EFI has a powerful
545cc, SOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled
engine, designed for a wide torque curve
with the smoothest power delivery via
Electronic Fuel Injection. 550 H1 motor
has a 10% increase of power at a lower
RPM versus the 500 and a 25% gain in
torque.
- The TRV has numerous
features to ease riding convenience.
Chief among them is a two-up seat with
cushioned seat back for legal trail
riding. Improved ergonomics and an easy
pin-pull removal system allow you to
transform the TRV into a single-rider
vehicle. If you choose to leave it in
the single rider mode, a rear SpeedRack
is available as an accessory from your
authorized dealer.
- Going from 2WD to
4WD is as simple as pressing a shift
button, while activating the front diff-lock
is as easy as pushing the all-new electronic
rocker switch button located on the
instrument pod. Simplicity also holds
true for the electronic choke system.
Start-In-Gear ability and single lever
hand operated hydraulic disc brakes.
- The double A-arm front
suspension and fully independent rear
suspension (both with five-position
spring preload adjustment) deliver 8
inches of travel and keep the ride firmly
planted and comfortable. And 10 inches
of ground clearance helps you clear
nearly all trail obstacles.

lets the 10” of front or rear
Fully Independent Suspension articulate
through the full range of suspension
travel. This increased articulation
provides full tire contact in all types
of off-camber terrain. The addition
of the sway bar will impact the traction
capabilities; however, it will enhance
flatter cornering in aggressive trail
riding
- Performance
Tuned Chassis - When you sit
on the 550 H1 EFI, it will squat roughly
2 inches (depending on rider size) while

of gravity for precise cornering
