ATV’s and UTV’s are plentiful during
the dune season which lasts from April to October,
but even if you do not have an ATV or UTV, there
are several places along the dunes where you can
either rent a UTV or take a guided tour.

for rent as well as guided tours at Silver
Lake Sand Dunes

Razor J’s Adventure Tours, owned and operated
by Jordan Aevig, allows you to rent a Polaris RZR,
and follow one of their experienced guides through
the dunes, which allows anyone the opportunity to
experience the dunes without the hassle of having
owning a dune vehicle. Razor J’s has been
in business for a couple of years now and offers
both two and four-seater Polaris RZR’s rentals.
The southern section of the dunes is leased to
Mac Wood’s Dune Rides that has been in the
business of dune tours since 1930. Mac Wood’s
first “dune scooter” was built out
of a Model A Ford that was intended for use as
a family past time, but word of mouth soon had
Mac Wood giving rides to the public and the popularity
of the tours soon grew into a flourishing business
for the Wood family.

Today Mac Wood’s Dune Rides has specially
built four wheel drive vehicles that can hold
up to 20 passengers. Tours are about 40 minutes
in duration and are hosted by drivers who are
knowledgeable and have a good understanding of
the dune area and are able to offer an enjoyable
and entertaining ride.
No matter what you choose to do at Silver Lake
Sand Dunes, be sure to bring your camera as there
are plenty of scenic landscapes and incredible
looking sand machines to provide many photo opportunities.
