Rally on the Rocks - Moab,
Utah
Moab, UT (4/24/2014) - Every May,
thousands of SxS / UTV enthusiast, travel to Moab,
Utah for one of the biggest off-roading events in
the United States, Rally on the Rocks. Often referred
to as the "Mecca of four-wheeling," Moab
played host to thousands of people, and offered
its OHV playground to over 750 SxS / UTV vehicles
that entered to participate in Rally on the Rocks
in 2013. With a variety of different trails ranging
from fairly easy to extremely treacherous, Rally
on the Rocks is an event that SxS / UTV off road
enthusiasts from one extreme to the next can enjoy,
and the 2014 Rally on the Rocks is just a few weeks
way on May 14-17th.
This was the seventh year in a row for Rally on the Rocks, and hosting the event in Moab has continuously attracted adventuress from all over the country. As a popular destination for 4x4's, ATVs, and UTVs, the beautiful scenery combined with over 3,000 miles of trails is an ideal location for adventure seekers and spectators alike. As the "off road capital of the world," Moab is the ultimate setting for this organization to host their event.

As organizers have remained in compliance with BLM and local law enforcement, obeying their rules has assured that the riding area remains open and allows them to repeat the event in the region year after year. Rally on the Rocks organizer Lanse Chournos was incredibly happy with how the event is expanding. With so much planning and preparation going into this event, making sure every guest has an excellent time is a crucial part of the experience.
"It's a little bit overwhelming actually. With vendors, sponsors, OEMs, and participants it grew by over 40% this year," Chournos stated in regards to the progression of ROTR.

Moab offers some of the most diverse terrain in the nation. Slick rock, steep hill climbs, muddy trails, and technical dirt roads all inhabit the area and provide enough different obstacles to test the skill and ability of both driver and machine.

While some sections of the region can be difficult to navigate, ROTR organizers have provided experienced guide leaders on each ride to help escort drivers safely through the terrain, and for 2013, many of the named obstacles that have been off-limits in the past were available to those willing to take the risk with the Devil’s Hot Tub, Escalator, and many more, but drivers were required to wear helmets and have 5-point harnesses and 6-point roll cages.
