Moab, UT (6/6/2013) - While on our trip to Moab, UT for the Rally in the Rocks, we at ATVriders.com encountered many fascinating places and some very interesting people along the way. We were quite surprised to find one person in particular at an off-road event; that person being none other than the NFL Baltimore Ravens’ defensive end, and 2012 Super Bowl champion, #92 Haloti Ngata.
The Baltimore Ravens, who were established in1996, have had great success in their brief history, making the playoffs nine times since the year 2000, and winning the 2000 and 2012 Super Bowls, two AFC Championship titles and four AFC North division titles. The Ravens are also the only team to hold a perfect record in multiple Super Bowl appearances.

With an impressive record like that, it only made sense that the Ravens chose Ngata as a first round draft pick in 2006, as his personal stats are just as impressive. At almost 6’5” and 340 pounds, Ngata, who is from Salt Lake City, UT, is an imposing force. Ngata was one of the best college players and managed 107 tackles over two seasons, which got the attention of the Ravens. From 2006 through 2011, he accumulated an ominous 163 tackles and signed a 5-year, $61M deal with the Ravens in 2011.
With stats like that, it’s obvious that players need a way to unwind and get out and have a little fun once in a while; which was exactly what Haloti Ngata was planning on for the Rally of the Rocks.

We came across Ngata at the KYMCO tent soon after he came back from a full day of riding. “We did Poison Spider earlier and it was beautiful. We also did Hell’s Revenge trail and it was a lot of fun. It was awesome being able to climb some of that technical stuff; and going out to the arches was amazing,” said Ngata.
