Irvine, CA (12/24/2008) - With
the 2009 racing season quickly approaching, Kawasaki
has announced the addition of one of ATV racing’s
favorite personalities to their team line up. Rumors
had been running rampant for months that Chad Wienen
would be making the switch from Suzuki to Kawasaki
for the 2009 season, and now those rumors have been
confirmed.
“I will definitely be riding for Kawasaki
in 2009,” said Chad excitedly. Suzuki decided
not to renew Wienen’s contract for next
year due to budget cutbacks for the ’09
season, but Chad’s talent and potential
have gained him plenty of recognition in the sport
and it wasn’t long before Kawasaki made
him an offer. “Jimmy White approached me
and asked me if I wanted to be on the Kawasaki
team for next year. I wanted to be on a good team.
A team that I could be happy with and ride with
for the rest of my career, so for me the answer
was obvious,” Chad elaborated.

For most of the 2008 season, Wienen was suffering
from a shoulder injury that kept him from performing
at his peak, but once fully healed, the #44 racer
made it known that he was still a top contender
and that he planned to carry that status over
to the 2009 season. “I’m really looking
forward to riding for Kawasaki and winning a championship
for them!” Chad stated optimistically.

Josh Creamer hasn't been on a quad most
of the winter after his knee surgery, but
it hasn't stopped him from having fun in

Chad will be joining Josh Creamer on the factory
Kawasaki team at the AMA ATV Motocross Nationals,
and team manager Jimmy White couldn’t be
happier. “I’m really looking forward
to working with Josh and Chad. They are both amazing
riders and I think that having a two man team
will allow us to concentrate on both of those
riders and give them the attention and support
they need to have a successful season,”
said White recently.
Creamer and Wienen, who are friends both on and
off the track, are excited to be racing together
as a team effort. “Honestly, Josh would
be my first pick for a teammate and I’m
really excited to be racing with him,” said
Chad.

“Chad and I are good friends and I’m
really looking forward to him joining the team.
I think we are going to have a great season,”
said Creamer, who is making good progress in his
recovery from knee surgery that he underwent in
October to repair a torn ACL.
Although the Kawasaki factory team will be limited
to only two riders for the 2009 season, Keith
Little and Russell Shumaker will be returning
to the AMA ATV MX Nationals on Kawasaki KFX 450R’s
under a support deal. Both riders will be receiving
support directly from Kawasaki, but will not be
a part of the factory team.
Also joining the Kawasaki team for 2009 is former
Suzuki mechanic, Ryan Cox who will be coming aboard
as the engine builder. Cox has had remarkable
success as a mechanic for team Suzuki and is renowned
for his reliable engine work, which will definitely
be an asset to Kawasaki's race team in 2009.
Last year, Josh Creamer came on strong with his
phenomenal speed and natural talent, putting Kawasaki
on the podium and giving them a top five in points
at season’s end. Now with the addition of
Chad Wienen to the Kawasaki team, it appears that
Kawasaki has one of the strongest teams in the
industry that will surely make regular appearances
on the podium and are a serious threat for the
championship if all goes well.
