Arctic
Cat ATV & SxS Factory Tour in Thief River
Falls, MN
::Continued::
The machine shop and tube bending areas were
also impressive. With six CNC multi-axis machine
centers and four tube bending machines, workers
cut and bend an average of more than four miles
of tubing per day. Most of that tubing that is
cut and bent goes on to one of the three main
welding areas where more than 21,000 miles of
welding wire is used each year, which is almost
the circumference of the earth.

Arctic Cat's
incorporates both man & robotic welding
when assembling the chassis for the Arctic
Cat ATV & Side-by-Sides to ensure
the best quality welds
|
Once each ATV, Prowler, or snowmobile comes off
the production line it is sent to the Quality
Run-In Booth where the unit is run anywhere from
20 seconds to two minutes to ensure it operates
as it is intended. The operator of the ATV Run-In
Booth rides an ATV approximately 4,000 miles per
year without ever leaving the Run-In Booth.

After each
Arctic Cat ATV & UTV / SxS is assembled
it is tested for quality on Arctic Cat's
Run-In booth & then packaged &
shipped to dealers around the world
|
At the end of our very informative tour, we decided
to check out the Arctic Cat company store where
there was an impressive line of Arctic Cat merchandise
for sale and very friendly staff to assist customers.
Being able to check out how Arctic Cat’s
production lines work and the processes that go
into making sure every vehicle produced is up
to their strict quality standards was a great
experience and was a great addition to their 50th
year celebration and we are looking forward to
many more years and many more products to come
from Arctic Cat.
