Wallkill, New York (12/04/2010) - As
Paul Jr. cruised the different rows of vendors at
the Texas trade show earlier this year, he happened
upon a company that peaked his interest, Blingstar
Industries.
Blingstar is a company that we in the ATV MX,
GNCC, and Off-road industry have come to know
as one of the top companies to outfit, and trick
out your quad. Both functional as a tool out in
the field and also as a piece of eye-candy, Blingstar’s
products have captured many ATV racers in various
disciplines.
When Paul Teutul Jr. split from the name of “Orange
County Choppers” and decided to make his
own brand of home brewed design and customization,
he wanted to branch away from just building radical
street bikes. He and Shawn Hess of Blingstar sat
down to discuss plans of an extreme ATV that could
be built by the creative minds at Paul Jr Designs
that would set the bar high in all facets of the
ATV world. Looks, functionality, and practicality
were all things to consider when it came to building
this one off quad and Paul Jr thought he and his
team could pull off not just that, but a little
extra on top as well.

The month of September rolled around and it was
time to start filming for Discovery Chanel’s
first episode of “American Chopper: Senior
VS Junior - Fallen Heroes Bike and Bling Star
Bike Part 1" to be aired this coming Monday
on December 6th, 2010 at 9PM. Shawn Hess and his
father Glenn boarded their plane in Northern Texas
and headed up to New York for this special event
held at Walden MX Track in Wallkill, NY.

Another familiar face was also present –
Susan Parker, top Women’s National ATV MX
racer and Blingstar Support Rider. Parker was
expected to be in France for a ten-hour endurance
race but held back here in the States for this
special event as well. Parker’s Honda TRX450R
ATV was outfitted with the latest in Blingstar
gear with their new nerfbars, front and rear bumpers,
and of course their rear brake, and shifter levers.
As the Discovery Chanel film crew rolled up and
Producer Joel Raatz stepped from his SUV, you
could feel the excitement in the air as we all
new this was an important step in our industry’s
future. Joel’s assistants mingled with the
us and told us the plans for the day as we too
were unloading our “Sunday bests”
from our respective locations. The process was
as smooth as butter after we all met each other
for the first times. The work began right away
with interviews from Paul Jr and Shawn Hess as
they both described their hopes and aspirations
for this project.
