Martin had a throttle issue in qualifying
for Saturday’s race and ran as high 10th in
the race before a tire issue slowed his run.
On Sunday, Martin fought wet track conditions
and finished fifth.
“We started 21st on Saturday, and made it
up to 10th before we had a tire issue,” said
Martin. “On Sunday, we had everything dialed
in and picked up three-and-a-half seconds
in qualifying. The track didn’t really come
in for us, but we made it up to fifth.”
Martin was running a new data logging system
from AiM Sports Data during the weekend. It
was a key component of his success because
he easily found that his throttle was only
going to 84% on Saturday and allowed the team
to make a quick and easy repair on an extraordinarily
hard issue to find.
“AiM Sports Data came over and we talked
data,” said Martin. “They helped me out with
a new data logger. It was a great thing because
we found our throttle issue while just scrolling
through the data. We never would have found
the issue if it wasn’t for them.”
Martin is also pleased with the support he’s
receiving from Bikeman Performance. Having
full trackside support allows him to do what
he does best: drive.
“Bikeman gives us the total package,” said
Martin. “It nice to have a team that offers
us full support. That’s key to our success
in racing.”
Martin heads next to Crandon International
Raceway in Wisconsin. The final Midwest Short
Course League race precedes the special event
Crandon World Cup, an award that Martin is
eying.
“We’re going to use Saturday as a test day
for Sunday,” said Martin. “We’re going to
come out swinging on Sunday. We’re going to
take home that World Cup.”
Martin will finish out the short course season
at Crandon August 31-September 2 at Crandon
International Raceway.
