The WORCS and BITD racing veteran was invited to compete at the last minute. Quickly booking his travel, he arrived in Minnesota on a red eye from Arizona to arrive in time for the Terracross Championship doubleheader weekend, staged on a grueling track built specifically for the event.
“I had looked at the Terracross races in the past because they looked like a lot of fun so I was excited to come out,” said Hancock. “This is a completely different car than I’m used to driving. I kept getting faster as the weekend went on. I know I can run with the top guys.”

Crashes in both races slowed Hancock’s charge. Terracross racing is a much different discipline than Hancock is used to, but he got up to speed quickly in his Open Trail-sponsored RZR.
“I got hit really hard in the second race,” explained Hancock. “It took out both the front and rear bumpers and I hurt my neck. On the restart, I had some problems with the car, so I just drove so I could get more used to the car. By then I was just too far back to get up the front guys.
