JB Racing’s Jeffrey Rastrelli Fourth at Monster Mountain

Palm City, FL (6/8/2016) – JB Racing’s Jeffrey Rastrelli captured a top five Pro class finish at the sixth round of the 2016 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship. The event was held at Monster Mountain MX Park in Tallassee, AL and the weather was beautiful, providing a dry track for one of the first times this season.

Monster Mountain MX Park was new addition to the series this season, and Rastrelli had nothing but positive feedback about the change. “It was awesome. There was a lot of high-speed stuff and the Pro section was pretty crazy. It was an awesome layout and the dirt was good. I had a great time,” stated Rastrelli.

The day began with Rastrelli taking third in the timed qualifying and backing it up with a third place moto one finish. “First moto I ended up working up to fourth place and I stayed there for a little under half the race. Natalie had a pretty good gap on me, but with three to four laps to go, I put on a charge and ended up passing him.”

The first moto did not end without a scare for Rastrelli when another rider went down right in front of him. “Thomas Brown had a pretty nasty get off right in front of me. I almost wrecked trying to avoid him. It was a pretty crazy ordeal, “explained Rastrelli.

Second moto, Rastrelli had his work cut out for him but he charged through the pack to salvage fifth in the moto and fourth place overall. “I wheelied and got a really bad start around fifteenth, and just really had to work hard to go by everybody. I ended up getting fifth that moto and fourth place overall. We are on the right track.”

Rastrelli’s sponsors were a major part of his successful race. “The PEP suspension worked really well. We had them dialed for this track, and the Goldspeed tires were hooking up great as always. It was all working great.”

With Rastrelli’s strong ride, he moved himself into fourth place in points and is sitting just eleven points below third.

Rastrelli is feeling good about his finish and looking forward to the next round. “Fourth place was definitely a step in the right direction. I am excited for Sunset Ridge. I like the sand and it is more of a sandy style, rough track and high speed so I am excited for that place. Hopefully the rain will hold off like it did in Alabama so we can have a dry one.

The seventh round of the 2016 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship will be held at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, IL June 18-19. Rastrelli will be putting in work and looking for a podium finish.
