JB Racing’s Tim Farr Scores Podium at Ironman GNCC
JB Racing’s GNCC XC1 UTV Race Report

East Springfield, PA (11/2/2016) - JB Racing/Can-Am/Gunk/Houser Racing driver Tim Farr earned his fourth consecutive podium in six races during the GNCC XC1 UTV season finale at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN. The third-place finish placed him a strong and consistent third in the championship

JB Racing's Tim Farr with co-pilot, Angel Knox, claimed his fourth straight podium finish with a 3rd place finish at the Ironman GNCC

Farr had a sway bar issue on the first lap and overcame hard contact with another competitor to score the podium. He credited his tough Can-Am Maverick’s durability for the finish.

“Third is pretty good,” said Farr. “We were hoping for a win, but we had sway bar problems and the car just wouldn’t handle. I just tried to stay on the throttle. We were running kind of ragged today. It’s just a testament to the durability of the Can-Am because we took some serious shots today. I couldn’t believe the front end was still under it after that collision.”

Maxxis' Tim Farr finished 3rd for the season in the GNCC XC1 UTV Points championship

With unseasonably warm temperatures, Farr took on the technical Ironman course with ease. The track features woods, muddy creek bottoms and a motocross course, making it a robust challenge for both man and machine.

“The Houser cage and the tree bars were amazing; we used them a lot here,” said Farr with a laugh. “The Maxxis Tires were great. The DWT wheels were awesome. The back wheel took a hard hit and it didn’t even lose air. The Fox Shocks were perfect here, especially with the variety of terrain.”

Farr was happy with his consistent results this season. Though he had difficulties in the first race, he finished second twice, and third twice to finish out the season.

“Overall the year went pretty well,” said Farr. “We started really bad and came back with some consistency. We’ll come back next year and give it another shot. I should be with Can-Am again next year.”

Farr will celebrate with his fellow competitors at the GNCC banquet November 25-26 in Morgantown, WV.
