JB Racing’s Tim Farr Takes Fourth in Big Buck GNCC
JB Racing GNCC SxS Pro XC1 Race Report

East Springfield, PA (4/22/2016) - JB Racing / Can-Am / Liquid Wrench / Houser Racing driver Tim Farr scored a fourth-place finish in the Big Buck GNCC Race in Union, SC. Farr, who has had difficulty in years past with the first two races of the season, drove through the dusty course to earn the top five.

“We finished just a few seconds off of the podium,” said Farr. “I had a great last lap going, and a lapper got stuck in a tree. It seemed like every lap we’d start getting a little speed and move forward. Then we’d get stuck in a bottleneck. It didn’t really go my way as far as the race went, but the car was good. It was just a little bit of a timing thing.

“More than anything I wanted to finish,” explained Farr. “For the last two years, the first two rounds weren’t good to me, so I was extra careful this time to make sure I got some points on the board.”

Farr switched to Maxxis Tires this year after using a different brand since he started racing. He’s pleased with the new tire package.

“The Maxxis Tires are awesome,” said Farr. “There are so many different types to choose from for any sort of condition. We use Tire Balls, but we haven’t even really needed them. Traction and steering are great and they’re tough throughout the race.”

JB has been fine tuning Farr’s Can-Am this year. Part of that process was adding Houser Racing components.

“We added some new Houser Racing parts this year to try to lose some weight and lower the center of gravity a little bit,” said Farr. “We’ve had a good platform for a couple of years, so we’re just improving on it. Jeff Houser is great. He’s easy to work with and he’s a sharp guy. He relates to what we want.”

Farr will be back in action in just two weeks as GNCC heads to Moree’s Sportsman Preserve in Society Hill, SC April 30th.
