GBC Motorsports Racers Clinch
5 GNCC Championships
Anaheim, CA (11/14/2016)
- As the 2016 GNCC Racing season came
to a close in Crawfordsville, IN, GBC Motorsports
celebrated the many outstanding performances by
sponsored athletes. With countless class race
wins across the 13 rounds of racing, GBC Motorsports
racers capped off the great season with five class
championships in GNCC ATV and UTV competition.
The atmosphere was electric at the final round,
the Ironman GNCC. With 2400 racers and over 20,000
spectators on hand, it was officially the largest
off-road race in United States history. Several
GBC Motorsports racers rose to the occasion, laying
down outstanding performances on the biggest stage
to date.
Landon Wolfe continued his upward trajectory,
finishing the season with a career high 3rd place
podium finish in both the XC1 Pro class as well
as the PM Overall. Meanwhile, Marty Christofferson
won the XC2 Pro-Am class on his way to the 7th
place Overall finish. Both riders found the traction
they were looking for with GBC’s Ground Buster
III 2-ply rear tires and XC-Master front tires.
Landon’s impressive performances stacked up to
a season-end rank of 7th place in the class, while
Christofferson narrowly missed out on the class
championship to finish 2nd.

Matt Lindle, a solid contender each round in
the XC2 Pro-Am class, jumped up to XC1 competition
for the first time in his career. Lindle has had
some high moments this season, hitting the podium
twice in XC2, but the Ironman would prove to be
his biggest race yet. Lindle stunned the crowd
with a 5th place finish in the XC1 class and 5th
place Overall, a huge accomplishment in one’s
first Pro level race!
Longtime GBC racer Jeff Pickens notched yet another
Vet A class win, and finished 3rd on the season
despite missing some races. Brian Filicky also
topped the podium in Crawfordsville, and finished
in 2nd place in the Junior B class.
Other notable performances in the final round
included a 3rd place podium performance by Kara
Merritt in the WXC class, a 4th place finish in
Vet B by John Sousa, a 5th place College A finish
by Nick Royalty and a 5th place effort by Jimmy
Mauger in Junior A.
Richard Taylor finished the season strong with
a 2nd place finish in the Masters class, and was
crowned champion after his consistent top finishes.
Fellow GBC racer Justin Wood also secured the
class title for the 4x4 Senior class, while Jeff
Miller ended 2016 at the top of the Junior A ranks.
Some racers, like Vet B class champions Cory
Blinkiewicz, used the final round as an opportunity
to try out a different class. Blinkiewicz jumped
up to the Vet A class for the final round and
laid down an 11th place performance to go along
with his class title.
Dave Plavi put together a great season in the
UTV XC2 class, winning several rounds on his way
to the class championship. Josh Davis finished
the season in 2nd in the UTV XC3 class.
