La Crosse, WI (4/24/2015) - Root River Racing’s Noah Mickelson topped the podium in both the Youth All Stars and Schoolboy Sr. classes at round two of the 2015 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships while Megan Manshack made her return to dominate the Women’s Class. Brandon O’Neill clinched his first Open Sr class win, and Dylan Tremellen finished in third in the Pro-am class.

The team traveled to Underground MX in Kemp, TX for round two of the series where they were greeted by a rough, sandy track. The challenging course was no match for the Root River Team and it certainly didn’t hold Noah Mickelson back from having a winning weekend.

Noah Mickelson had a strong showing in the season opener and he was determined to keep the forward momentum going for round two. Mickelson led from start to finish in both motos of the Youth All Star class, winning both motos and topping the podium. “I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get the win at round one, but I got it this time and I just want to keep moving forward from here,” said Mickelson, who is now second in class points.

Noah Mickelson repeated his success in the Schoolboy Sr. class and claimed his second overall win of the season. “I had to work up in the first moto, but I got out front and just tried to stay focused. The second moto I had a great start and I got the win again. It feels good to win both rounds so far. Root River Racing has really done a lot for me and I want to win as many rounds as I can for them,” said Mickelson.

Number 504, Brandon O’Neill took 2-1 finishes and grabbed the win in the 90 Open Sr. class. “I didn’t get the best start in the first moto. I was fourth on the holeshot but caught up for second. For the second moto I was in third off the start and I was able to make the pass for the win. I’m really excited to get my first win of the season and I’m hoping I can get a few more,” said O’Neill.

Brandon O’Neill also raced the Supermini class and rounded out the top five and finished seventh in the 90 Shifter class. “The track got rough but it was really fun and I had a good weekend overall. I’m pretty happy with how everything went and I can’t wait for the next round,” said O’Neill.

Root River Racing’s Megan Manshack, who has been racing the GNCC series this season, made a surprise appearance in her home state for this round and showed why she is the reigning champion as Manshack walked away with both moto wins and the overall, but her focus for 2015 remains the GNCC Series, which will open the door for a new champion to be crowned in the ATV Motocross Women’s class.

Dylan Tremellen put together two solid motos in the Pro-am class this weekend. Tremellen took fourth place in both motos and finished with a third place podium finish and is now second in Pro-am class points. “I cannot thank Rich Gillette, Rod Mickelson, Dee Manshack and Stan Digby enough for all the hard work they put in. We have awesome motors, amazing suspension, and great tires hooking up. And I can’t forget all of the other Root River Racing sponsors we have to help build such awesome handling machines,” said Tremellen.

Dylan Tremellen also competed in the Pro Sport class and took 5-5 finishes to round out the top five overall. “I had a pretty good weekend. I got a third in Pro-am and fifth in Pro Sport, so it went good,” said Tremellen.

Sam Rowe finished right behind Tremellen in the Pro-am class with a fourth place finish overall. Rowe had a good start in the first moto and went on to finish in third. For the second moto, Rowe claimed a sixth place finish giving him fourth overall. “I had a decent weekend, I got fourth in Pro-am. I wanted the win, but I will have to make that happen next round,” said Rowe, who also raced in the Pro Sport class and claimed a sixth place finish.

Haedyn Mickelson had a solid race in the 450 A class and claimed 6-3 finishes for a fourth place overall. Mickelson had a strong first moto in the Production A class, finishing second. Mickelson tried to repeat his moto one performance but luck was not on his side. Despite being at the back of the pack, Mickelson made an impressive charge and came from 17th up to a ninth place finish in moto two for seventh overall.

Tyler Mack had a great first moto in Production B with an impressive moto win. Mack also recorded the fastest lap time of the moto with a time of 01:51.007. Mack came back and finished moto two in fifth place, which gave him a third place finish.

Johannah Vossman did well in the Schoolgirl class, taking second in moto one and fifth in moto two for a fourth place finish overall. “I had some great starts this weekend and also some bad ones. I took a 2nd and 5th in Schoolgirl and came out with a 4th. It wasn't how I planned it to go, because I really wanted that win but things happen,” said Vossman,

Vossman also took on the boys once again in the Youth All Star class and rounded out the top ten.

Logan Tremellen had some tough luck in the Production C class, but he never gave up and came away with 4-9 finishes for sixth overall. “Things didn't turn out how I had planned. I had a little mishap in practice on Friday and I went over the bars. Then on Saturday, I got a decent holeshot but I ended with fourth. Then in the second moto, coming off the gate, my quad stalled on me. I pushed hard for the first couple laps and I was able to walk away with a sixth overall. I'm pleased with how I rode, and will be trying harder next round for my first win. I want to thank everyone for their support this season. I couldn't have done this without the entire Root River Racing team,” said Tremellen.

Dalton Hicks was back in action for this round after a dislocated shoulder at Daytona Supercross took him out of commission for round one. Hicks claimed 7-8 finishes in the 450 A class for 7th overall and 5-8 finishes in Production A gave him a ninth place finish.
