Tempe, AZ (8/4/2015) - Matt
Hancock finished second in the Open A class
and third in Pro Am WORCS X during a busy
weekend for Pro Motorsports’ Matt Hancock
at Round 7 of the WORCS Racing series at Straddleline
ORV Park in Olympia, WA.
Hancock competed in six races here during
a special doubleheader weekend that featured
two different races for the WORCS Pro and
Pro Am competitors. In Open A, Hancock hooked
up right from the start and very nearly chased
down the leader. “My Sparks engine and Maxxis
Tires ripped off the line,” said Hancock,
who is now first in Open A by just one point.
“Points are so important right now with just
two races to go.”

Hancock finished third in the special Pro-Am
WORCS X race. The four-lap event was held
Saturday evening on a special Enduro-Cross
course. “It was a fast-paced race, and I came
prepared,” said Hancock of the weekend. “The
WORCS X race was really interesting. I started
strong and held on to finish third.

Hancock finished seventh in the regular WORCS
Pro-Am race on Sunday after being sidelined
briefly with a bent sprocket, and he now sits
second in the Pro-Am Championship. “I had
a great start in Sunday’s race and I got second
really quickly,” said Hancock. “But I got
hung up in the logs on the first lap. I kept
pushing, and blew out a berm. I broke the
rear sprocket. I lost two laps fixing the
bike. It was pretty frustrating. I felt like
a rode really well, and I thought I had enough
for the podium.”
Adding to Hancock’s full card of racing this
weekend, he competed in both the WORCS X and
the regular WORCS Side by Side races, finishing
seventh and eighth, respectively.

Unfortunately, Jeff Hancock was missing from
competition this weekend after coming down
sick before the event, which landed him in
the hospital. On a positive note, he was released
from the Hospital on Monday, and he should
be ready for the Vegas to Reno race in two
weeks.
Round eight of the 2015 WORCS series is scheduled
for September 26-27th at Glen Helen in California,
where Matt Hancock will be going for the win.
