Alamo, NV (5/8/2015) - Can-Am/ITP/Lonestar Racing’s Jason and Derek Murray added another race to their impressive, and growing, list of consecutive finishes at the Best in the Desert Silver State 300, bringing their total to 35.

Conditions for the BITD Silver State 300 were dry and dusty and adding to the challenge of the course, the UTV classes were released after the trophy trucks, which created some very rough conditions and very deep silt beds, but that didn’t stop the Murray Brothers from finishing yet another race.

Jason and Derek Murray brought out their Can-Am Maverick Turbo for this round and had no issues with running a fast and steady pace. “The new Maverick Turbo is incredible. The power and torque are amazing, and the throttle response was spot on,” said Derek Murray.

The Murray’s started off well, but they were plagued with wheel issues due to the rough conditions. “The course was way rougher this year with us starting behind the trucks; with a lot of rocks and silt and it really changed the dynamic of the race. It was a real off road course, and it was awesome,” said Derek Murray.

“It was a fun race and we had a good time even though we had a few issues with wheels, and our brakes went out at one point, but overall it was a good race and we got another finish. That’s 34 or 35 consecutive finishes for us, and we are pretty stoked about it,” said Jason Murray.

Despite dealing with several wheels failures, the Murray Brothers never gave up & crossed the finish line shortly after sunset to record their 35th straight finish in the Best in the Desert Series

With the issues they encountered the Murray brothers finished the race in 22nd place overall. “We had high hopes of coming out here and finishing on the box, but we did have some adversity today. We just have a little fine tuning to do and this Can-Am Turbo is going to be winning races,” said Derek Murray.

The next round of the Best in the Desert series is the General Tire Vegas to Reno run on August 13-15th where the Murray brothers will be ready and going for the top of the podium.
