Parker, AZ (10/15/2015) - Derek
and Jason Murray teamed up to finish eleventh
in the Blue Water Desert Challenge in Parker,
Arizona, part of the Best in the Desert Series.
The pair notched their 37th consecutive overall
finish in their Can-Am, a virtually unheard-of
accomplishment in desert side by side racing.
With dry and windless conditions in the area,
dust caused massive visibility problems over
the two-day event. The race comprised a 25-mile
loop in the desert and racers ran a total
of 75 miles each day.

straight BITD finish in the Can-Am at
the Blue Water Desert Challenge |
“Finishing this many races this many times
in a row just shows the reliability of the
Can-Am and the products we use,” said Jason
Murray. “The first day was rough. We started
at the back of the pack and we were really
running blind. On the second day, we made
some moves and all in all we had a good day.”

Derek had to nurse the Can-Am to the finish
on the first day after breaking two axles
while trying to maneuver in the near-zero-visibility
racing conditions.
“We were pushing the car really hard,” said
Jason Murray. “We hit a few things as a result
and lost an axle on the first lap. At that
point we had to back off to keep the car together.
We finished the race down two axles, but the
car ran awesome. We were just pushing too
hard, too early.”

“We’re not doing so well in BITD, but our
focus is SCORE,” explained Derek Murray. “We’re
going into the next SCORE race in first place
and we’re hoping to bring home the championship.”
The next race for the Best in the Desert
Racing Association, the season finale for
the racing series, is scheduled for December
5 and the Murray Brothers will be ready to
roll.
