With more than $30,000 in purse winnings at stake, including more than $5,000 for the winner, Rastrelli was definitely ready to run. However, he had a major get-off in his heat. Through his own determination, he overcame a bad gate pick to drive through the field and nab the final spot on the podium.

“I had a bad gate pick and that kind of put me back from winning,” said Rastrelli, “but the JB Can-Am worked great and I’m stoked with the podium.”

Recalling the old Joe Namath saying: “When you win, nothing hurts,” Rastrelli’s competitive spirit and a well-prepared quad pulled him through.

“I got a little out of control, blew a berm, got ejected off the bike and landed on my left shoulder; I think I may have separated it a little bit,” said Rastrelli of the crash during his heat. “Before the moto, I was hurt bad. I could barely move my knee and my shoulder. But when I got on that track and the adrenalin kicked in, it was a whole different story. I forgot about that stuff and did the deal.”
