Jeffrey Rastrelli claimed his second podium
finish of the year with a third overall
at Spring Creek MX |
Rastrelli endured the rough, technical and sandy
surface for which Spring Creek is known. “This
was a great feeling coming off the injury at Iron
Man,” said Rastrelli. “We put in some serious
training leading up to this race to get ready
for the sand hole that is Millville. It was insane.
This was probably the roughest track I’ve ever
ridden.”
Rastrelli related that he is still recovering
from the injury and especially, the time off from
his strict training regimen. He was pleased to
finish third in both motos to net the overall
third-place finish. “To get a podium off of a
mid-season injury? I’m stoked,” said Rastrelli.
“We came out fourth in the first moto. I was putting
pressure on Joel Hetrick, but I just kind of hit
a wall. The two weeks I took off after the injury
put a damper on my training. I wasn’t in the best
place physically. In the second moto, I was battling
Joel again. I made a few mistakes, but I finished
out strong and didn’t let those guys run me too
hard.”

Rastrelli is a fan of tracks like Spring Creek.
“I love this track. It’s sandy, like back home
in Florida,” said Rastrelli. “This is what I grew
up on, so this place just comes naturally to me.
I can’t thank the whole JB Racing/Liquid Wrench/Can-Am
team for getting my bike on top of that podium.”
Next, Rastrelli returns to Unadilla MX in New
York for Round 8. Rastrelli recorded his first
Pro podium there last year. “I’m looking forward
to getting back on the podium to show my sponsors
that I really appreciate their support.”

Prior to the Spring Creek event, Rastrelli joined
several other racers visiting a local hospital
and a nearby Ronald McDonald House. “It was nice
to help put smiles on some kid’s faces,” said
Rastrelli. “It was great. I really love to give
back. It was a touching and heart warming experience.”
Rastrelli is currently sixth in Mt. Dew AMA ATV
Motocross National Championship series points,
but he is looking to move into the top five before
the end of the season with three rounds of racing
remaining on the schedule.
Round 8 of the Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championship
heads to Unadilla MX in New Berlin, NY on July
11-12. JB Racing/ Liquid Wrench/ RRR’s Jeffrey
Rastrelli will return healthier and stronger,
fighting for the win.
