East Springfield, PA (7/30/2015) - JB Racing/Liquid Wrench’s Peyton Zimmerman captured two second place finishes at round nine of the 2015 Mtn Dew AMA ATV Motocross National Championship at RedBud MX in Buchanan, MI. Zimmerman has the points lead in the Youth All Star (13-15) class heading into the final round.

Zimmerman put in a very strong ride in the Youth All Star class, going 2-2, for second overall. “First moto I had third to last gate pick and was stuck all the way on the outside, but I still came out fourth. My PR2 motor and ITP tires really got me out of the gate good. I worked my way up to second, but I couldn’t get around Alan [Myers] for the win. It was a pretty good moto all around,” said Zimmerman.

The second moto of Youth All Star, Zimmerman had a good start and quickly moved into second place. Zimmerman had the fastest lap of the class, but could not make a pass on the leader for the win, and settled with second. Zimmerman leads the class points by five going into the final round of the season.

In the Supermini class, Zimmerman again put in an impressive ride, going 1-3 for second overall. “First moto I got second off the start, but quickly moved into the lead and pulled away,” said Zimmerman. The second moto, Zimmerman battled with the top two riders, but ended up finishing third, which gave him second place overall on the weekend.  He currently sits in second place in points.

The pressure is mounting for the final round at Loretta Lynn’s. Zimmerman says, “My plan for Loretta’s is to win. I have to win to get the championship.”

JB Racing/ Liquid Wrench’s Women and Schoolgirl racer, Maddie Guyer, also had an impressive ride at RedBud. This was only Guyer’s third race back after an injury. “My wrist still hurts pretty bad, so I was struggling with that a little bit still. It was really, rough so I was jamming it a lot,” said Guyer.

According to Guyer, in the first moto of Women’s, “My ITP tires helped me to pull a pretty good start, I was in third right behind Megan [Manshack]. Then my seat came off, so I was struggling through the rough parts, and ended up getting passed for fourth.” In the second moto of Women’s, Guyer put in a solid ride despite some bad luck.

“I was third in the holeshot, but got pushed out in the rough, and stuck on a berm for a little bit. I caught back up to fifth and then my seat came off again. I rode a lap and a half with no seat and just played it safe to finish fifth,” said Guyer. Guyer’s 4-5 moto finishes earned her fourth place overall. Despite sitting out a few rounds due to her wrist injury, Guyer still sits in fourth place in points.

In the Schoolgirl class, Guyer went 4-3 for fourth overall. Guyer had some issues in the first moto, and rode safely to finish the moto in fourth. “Second moto I rode back and forth with Maci [Devenport] for a while, and ended up passing her to finish third,” said Guyer.

Grayson Eller had a great ride in Schoolboy Jr. in which he went 3-1 to finish second overall. “First moto I didn’t have the best start, but I was coming through the pack pretty good to finish third. The second moto I took second on the holeshot and passed for first pretty quickly. I was feeling smooth and feeling good,” said Eller.

In Eller’s other class, Youth All Star, he went 4-5 for fourth overall. With mid-pack starts each moto, Eller had to put in the extra effort to work through the pack and finish strong.

Eller sits in second place in points in Schoolboy Jr. going into the tenth round. “I’m going to focus on practicing to see if I can get a couple more places for the last round. After that I’ll be ready to ride 450’s next year,” said Eller.

The next round of the 2015 Mtn Dew AMA ATV Motocross National Championship will be the final round of the season. The JB Racing/ Liquid Wrench riders will compete at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN August 8-9.
