Powerline Park - Round 12
Bradford, VA (10/28/2015) - Johnson Motorsports/Honda rider William “Duck” Lloyd earned his first GNCC victory of the year in the Junior A ATV race at Powerline Park in St. Clairsville, OH. Lloyd’s victory comes on the heels of two podium finishes in the last two GNCC races.

With freezing temperatures and overcast skies on race day, Lloyd started third and took the lead one mile into the race. He had cruised out to a minute-and-a-half lead when the front brakes on his Honda faded. He carried through, and extra training prior to this round kicked in helping him to earn the victory.

“I pulled it off this weekend,” said a jubilant Lloyd. “I had the baby it through the woods for the last three laps with no front brakes, but I ended up winning. We got some new Maxxis Tires this weekend and they worked great. It’s really starting to come together.”

Lloyd, a regular motocross competitor, had to modify his training program to cope with the rigors of cross country racing.

“I changed up my training program before this race and it really worked,” said Lloyd. “I felt strong all the way until the end. I’ve been putting in the work and training. I haven’t been out there in so long. I’m used to motocross and going crazy the whole time. In GNCC I have to sit back and think a little bit. I’m going to keep on working hard to get ready for the next round.”

Lloyd will return to action October 31st when GNCC holds its season finale in Crawfordsville, IN.
