Bradford, VA (10/9/2015) - Johnson
Motorsports’ William “Duck” Lloyd finished second
in the Junior A ATV Class at Round 11 of the GNCC
Championship at Mountain Ridge in Central City,
PA. Lloyd has now finished on the podium in both
of his GNCC starts this season.
Lloyd had to contend with his share of issues,
though. With cold, rainy and foggy conditions
on race day, visibility and traction on the muddy
course was at a premium. His Honda stalled at
the start and then he spun going into the first
turn. Lloyd held on, though and he drove through
the field to finish second.

Lloyd got off to a last place start at the
Mountain Ridge GNCC, but he charged his
way into the lead by the end of lap two |
“It was cold, rainy and foggy during the entire
race,” said Lloyd. “I only wore my goggles for
the first couple of laps. After that I had to
take them off because I couldn’t see. It was a
mess out there, but we made it through and my
Honda held up well.”
A regular motocross competitor, Lloyd is getting
up to speed on the difficulties that come with
cross country ATV racing. He is looking for victory
in the last two rounds of the season.

Lloyd finished in the second spot for his
second straight top three finish in his
return to GNCC racing |
“This is a whole different beast than motocross,”
explained Lloyd. “I came home and I’m going to
keep training hard to get that victory. I have
never raced anything like this before, but I’m
ready now. I know what to expect. I changed my
workout program and I’ll be ready for Powerline
Park.”
Lloyd will be back in action October 17-18 when
GNCC heads to Powerline Park for Round 12 of the
series.
