Alamo, NV (5/8/2015) -
CT Racing’s Danny Prather and David
Scott charged their way through the dust and
silt beds and earned a second place finish
in the Pro Quad class at the Best in the Desert
Silver State 300.
Conditions were dry and dusty for the Silver
State 300 and with the quads starting at daybreak,
the combination of dust and the rising sun
made visibility very tough. The CT Racing
team however, was not going to let that stop
them from reaching the finish line.

Ball's Danny Prather started the race
for the team shortly after 5:30AM |
Danny Prather was the starting racer for
the team and was third off the start. The
start was challenging with the combination
of the sun and dust, but Prather made good
time. “We ate a lot of dust off the line,
but we stayed close to the leaders for about
the first 100 miles. We got around the second
place team but the team out front pulled a
good lead,” said Danny Prather.
Prather and Scott kept a fast and steady
pace, and towards the end, they were able
to close in on the leaders by eight seconds,
but having to wait for highway traffic hampered
their efforts of taking the lead. “Everything
was working awesome for us out there, and
we tried to reel them in but we fell short
this time. We got to about eight seconds behind,
and we got hung up at a road crossing. That’s
part of racing out here. We have to stop for
traffic on the highway, so it cost us a little
time, but I don’t know if it would have made
that much of a difference,” said David Scott.

David Scott charges his way to the finish
line in the closest race of the BITD
season with the team just missing the
win by over a minute |
The team pushed hard all the way to the end,
and finished the race in second place by about
one minute behind the leaders. “It was a really
close race, and it was a lot of fun out there.
There was some good competition racing, so
that made it even better. It was a rough course,
but our Elka Shocks, Maxxis Tires and DWT
Wheels held up great. We left it all out there
on the course today, and it felt good to finish
well but we want to get that win at the next
round,” said Prather.

“We gave it everything we had, but we came
up a little short. Hopefully we can make it
happen next time at Vegas to Reno,” added
Scott.
The next round of the Best in the Desert
series will be the General Tire Vegas to Reno
run on August 13-15, where the CT Racing team
will be going for the win.
