Limestone - Round 5
Daniels, WV (5/7/2015) - Can-Am / Quadboss’, Bryan Buckhannon earned second place in the 4x4 Pro class and overall at the Limestone 100, round five of the 2015 GNCC series in Springville, IN, to extend his class points lead.

Rain began to fall at the start of the race and quickly led to deteriorating conditions for the morning classes with an abundance of slick mud. Despite the elements, Bryan Buckhannon put his Can-Am Renegade on the GNCC 4x4 Pro Podium.

“Limestone is a great track, but we knew it was going to be muddy. We tried to set up for it but it was still very slick, and it was hard to not slide into trees on the first lap. We thought the mud would be a little stickier, like Loretta Lynn’s, but it wasn’t. It was just very slick, and I was at the back of the pack early in the first lap and that wasn’t sitting well with me,” said Buckhannon.

Buckhannon was not about to settle for a back of the pack finish and began a hard charge through the mud and worked up to second place by the third lap.

Buckhannon began to close in on the leader and was getting close when the mudbecame too caked up on his machine and it went into limp mode. “We were rolling really well, and I was within 20 seconds of the leader on the last lap, and then I went into limp mode,” explained Buckhannon.

Despite the issue, Buckhannon pressed on and was able to hold on to the number two position at the checkered flag. “I still feel fortunate to finish in second place due to the conditions out there and how competitive our class is. I’m really looking forward to New York, and I’m hoping to come back for a win,” said Buckhannon, who still holds the 4x4 Pro points lead.

Buckhannon’s nephew, also Bryan Buckhannon, was racing the Limestone 100 as well. “He had some issues in the previous rounds, and he just wanted to finish a race, so we put him on a bone stock Raptor 125 and put him in the front row.

There are a lot of hybrid and modified quads in that class that have twice the motorhe had. He has a lot of determination and went out and finished in eighth place and got some points. We are happy with that, and he was happy to finish. He is also looking forward to the next round, and he is hoping to do even better,” stated Buckhannon.

Round six of the 2015 GNCC series will head to Odessa, NY for the Dunlop Tomahawk on May 9th, where Bryan Buckhannon will be going for the win, to extend his points lead even further.
