Trail riding is different things to different people. I remember taking a friend out who had never been to an ATV park. He was trail riding at home in his own woods, and while he called it trail riding, he was not aware of what trail riding was actually like until he hit some of the real trails and hills that we have around here. I've found that trail riding aggressively is probably the most physically and mentally demanding way to ride an ATV. Sure MX is tough and you've got to have some balls on the big jumps, but try shooting the woods for over an hour at a grueling pace....it's exhausting!
I agree, thing about trail riding that I've observed in 15 years of riding is that the trails always have new challenges each time you ride them it seems like. Around here it's most prominent in the spring after the heavy snows and windstorms that knock lots of trees over. Some days we spend more time clearing the trails or hopping over downed trees than doing any relaxed riding. There are some hills I climb that 4 wheel drive trucks never go near, it's kinda amazing where these little 2x4 quads will go if you are determined enough.

It pretty much was, the whole mountain is private property, but on the tops there are radio or cellphone towers and they have to keep the road in decent shape so maintenance crews can drive their trucks up there. Some of the fire roads we went on after I snapped these pics were a little more challenging however. We may go back up this weekend and I will try and get some more pics then.

Also, one last thing I wanted to ask. My axle is bent a little on the left side and the tire wobbles quite a bit. Will this cause any damage in the long run? I put a new bearing carrier and used axle in it (didn't know it was bent) but the bearings still roll fine and I've ridden it pretty regularly for about a month now and haven't had a issue. I wanna see if someone can straighten it for me, just don't have the money for a whole new axle at the moment. Thanks all!

as cheap as i see stock axles going for, you should try to find a straight one cheap, it will wear more on your bearings no doubt. also it will cause the chain and brake rotors to move more than they did before. depending on how bent it is, it will be hard on the chain, sprockets, and brakes.

I found one new on service honda for 201. Where do I find them cheaper? No used ones will work, that's what I have now and it was allegedly supposed to be straight and wasn't at all.

you can find a used stock axle that's straight, not everybody will try to screw you. People replace axles all the time. Honestly keep an eye out in the classifieds and on ebay and you can get one for under $100 all day long. For $201 you can get an aftermarket adjustable width axle by g force.

Some of my trail riding pics I took over labor day weekend. Went camping in the mtns with all my buds, had a total blast, 3 days just wasn't enough!

I dare say 400s are kings of the trail. No they arnt as fast as a 450 but trails arnt about top speed. They are technical which is where the 400 is great they have torque for days so they can lug through gear not just have to be topped out like 450s.
