    400ex clutch spring bolts torque specs

    replacing my friends clutch and do not have a manual, what are the torque specs of the 5 spring bolts?

    the manual doesn't say i just went a 1/4 turn after they where all the way in
    02 440ex 12.5:1, stage 2, full t4 exhaust, choke removed, 165 main 42 pilot, ported

    There's no specific torque spec for the clutch spring bolts. You need to cinch them down securely, but beware not too over-tighten them. I've seen people snap off the heads many times. If you just snug them down, the spring pressure will help to keep them from backing out, so no need to tighten the crap outta them

    thanks for the fast responses, i just thought there would be a specific torque to them because when i took them out they werent torqued in very much at all, the motor held the basket enough to break the bolts loose. ill just go by feel, thanks again.

    they are a positive stop, so no torque on them. just snug them up. they are VERY easy to snap off so be careful.
