I recently did a rebuild on my 300ex. i put a hi comp piston in it and a web cam. i rode it about 2 hours then i changed the oil and filter. Sice then i went on one long ride and a few short rides. I drained my oil today and noticed the oil was pretty metalicly. Where are the metal shavings coming from?
did u bore out? if u did then sometimes that will happen...if u didnt...u may have a problem :huh

i still have a stock bore.
sounds kinda bad...i dunno what happened...kinda sounds like ur piston is shaving ur cylinder...or maybe when u put it back together some metal got in it...who knows...but it doesnt sound 2 great
are you sure its not clutch plate shavings?
thats not great either, but better than bore shavings

If you recently did a rebuild then it it probaly just from your rings seating. It usually takes a few oil changes to get all the shavings out.
