Yep. I went to the dealer today to get a plug and a battery for it and the guy behind the counter offered to buy it sight unseen.
I laughed! It wont take much to get it running again and once it is then I'll restore the frame, tank and bars!
id like to have one of those just to pimp it out and use it as a pit bike. chrome like everything on it. get it all powdercoated. haha i got some good plans for it

If I'm not mistaken that's not a Z-50, that is a CT-70. It has the same engine as the atc 70. You can put a 90 intake on it and get a lil bit more power, they make big bore kits for them too.
Look at this one on ebay:

You are mistaken it is a Z50. I can show you the VIN data plate, the casting on the cylinder, the title. The stamp on the carberator, I am positive it is a Z50. I even have the original bill of sale from when my grandfather bought it from Canby cycle in Oregon, January the 27th 1970. I think I know what I have here.
The bike in that link is not even the same bike. It is a trail70. Mine is a trail50.

I've been out tinkering on it today. It needs a lot of work. Tank is leaking. spark is weak, carb is pluged:(
I did however, find a guy in town who restores them. So, I think its going to get a full restoration to showroom condition. I'll keep you posted;)

D@mn man calm down I wasn't doubting you I just saw the CT 70 when I was looking for stuff on ebay for my atc 70 and it looked the same, I didn't study the pic or anything just thought it was the same bike. Well since it's a 50 I'm not sure if they make big bore kits for it or not, I was just givng ideas since I thought it was a 70. Since you can put a 90 intake on a 70, you might be able to put a 70 intake on a 50, not for sure though.

It's all good. There are big bire kits for it, up to 85cc. but that aint my thing. I want to restore it to showroom condition. all the parts are avalible for it. but boy it adds up fast.

Awsome I bet that thing is worth some $$ esp to you for your memories... I learned on a 1989 Honda 50R it was awsome and still is! Needs new rear tire and shocks! but awsome, keep us updated I know I want to see it show room condition!

Not even 24 hours at home and its apart, and parts on order. :D
I ordered some POR15 tank sealer for the pin holes in the tank. and ordered a new battery, plug, points, and some other stuff today. I'm taking the motor to work tommorow for a good cleaning and to try to get the flywheel off. Also the tubes and tires are original equipment. The front tube will get a patch tommorow, and the back is fine. The tires aren't even cracked.
