raptor problems???

ok my buddy has an 01 660 raptor.after it idles for about 5 minutes it just shuts off like you turn the key off.hit the start button and it fires right back and dies in about 5 minutes again.if you hold the throttle about 1/4 throttle it pops/snaps out the exhaust,sounds like its on the rev limiter.i know the jetting is a little on the rich side.could the CDI box be dieing?

could be the valves are to tight. thats what was wrong with mine when it was doing similar to that.

Also... I tuliped the valves in my old four-wheeler, and it was really hard to start and wouldn't idle!

If it is running for five minutes then dies, it doesn't sound like a valve adjustment problem. Sounds like a fuel problem possibly ignition. Check your rev limiter too.
