the use of exhaust packing

i found how to repack my exhaust in the search thing but i have a t-4 on my 250ex but i was wondering wat is the use of packing is it just so it isnt so loud or do u get some power back i was jw thanx in advance

i already ordered some packing for it i was just wondering

go up to your attic and grab some insulation and throw it in your exaust..



lol, I dono if it will work or not, but that packing shure resembles some good ole pink panther.
