I am currently in the process of installing a LRD slip on and a K&N w/ Outerwears. I also have the Dyno Jet kit. But before I re-jet it I was wondering if running with the Air Box lid completely off is a good idea. I live in the desert, don't ride in the wet at all really, but it does get pretty dusty. I'm aware that it would require extra maintenance, and that's fine. I just want to make sure it won't damage my motor at all.
Any help would be great.

Also, if anyone knows off hand the proper jetting for either lid or no lid, it would save me some time messing with it.

I don't like to clean my air filter after every ride so I bought an EHS Racing airbox lid. It keeps most all of the dust out & lets the engine breathe.

i do not think it would hurt as long as you clean after every ride or if you can return your K&N still you could try a K&N power lid it is a filter lid that snaps right on to your stock box you can get them on ebay for a pretty good price

for no air lid, go up 2 main jet sizes, works great.

So if you just run open air lid start with a 152main jet and you should be good.
